Rick Valenzuela

Rick Valenzuela is a freelance news photographer based in Cambodia, primarily shooting broadcast TV news. Most recently he ran the picture desk at The Phnom Penh Post daily newspaper.

After working text side at The Cambodia Daily from 2002-2004, he crossed over into photojournalism, returning to Cambodia in 2009 to produce pictures and video. His photographs have been printed in The Guardian (U.K.), Der Standard (Austria), Bistandsaktuelt (Oslo, Norway) and La Vanguardia (Barcelona, Spain), as well as in the book “Street World: Urban Culture from Five Continents” (2007, Thames and Hudson).

He occasionally wears local scarves, but only while working.
